Here's the preview: www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?aid=28366Hal seems pissed. I'm still not sold on the whole concept, though. The only thing that would be interesting if this division of the Justice League actually decided to kill their villains. Afterall what would be the difference this time if they just locked them away like they always do and they come back after a few weeks to do crime again? Just hunt them to put them in prison? That would actually be kind of lame and not that much different to say the Outsiders.

Oh boy, it looks like Hal is having his period. Haha.
I think the art is good but it looks really rough in some spots, doesn't it?

I'm not very fond of the art either. I don't like water coloured/painted stuff in comics for the most part (with the only exception being Alex Ross).

See, I don't even like Alex Ross all that much for interiors past Kingdom Come and Marvels. Both it and Digital paint just seem too... I dunno, light to me. Maybe it's just that i'm used to seeing blacks in my comics and the majority of painting artists never use enough of it to weight down the drawings.
Those bastards.

Maybe you should show those comic painters who is the boss.

Maybe they would laugh at me as they collect their paychecks for doing art that most people are fascinated to because its so damn shiny.
Those bastards.

I'm looking forward to this because Starman and Golden Age were so good, but Robinson has been dowright awful on Superman, so we'll see.
Nice mix of characters, though. This could win just on the roster, if he makes it work (Batwoman is going to be a challenge, though).

The shininess suckered me in. That combined with James Robinson. I was super dissapointed by Meltzer since the JLA has usually been an amazing book to start with in the last two incarnations (Morrison and Giffen/Dematties) This sounds like the Justice League book I've been clamoring for.

I'm not sold on this yet. This should have been told in the main JLA book or it should have been already coming out to run alongside the set up issue a couple of months ago in JLA.
If this adds to Batwoman, then ok. But I really feel that she hasn't been developed enough yet to be put on a JLA book.

I agree. Some well established characters never had the chance to be a part of the JLA. Batwoman appeared in a few comics (52) than dissapeared into limbo for two years or so. Pretty much now DC hero knows her either. So why should she be a part of the Justice League all of a sudden?
I'm going to check out the book for sure. I haven't read anything good with that was recently written with the Justice League involved as a team. The reguöar JLA book just bored the hell out of me since McDuffie started writing it.

It probably would have run in the main book if McDuffie had gotten the axe sooner.

If you follow the back alley dealings that is the current JLA title, you'd know that it's not right to blame McDuffie for his run. Dozens of editorial mandates quashing what he wanted to do, characters pushed upon him, story-arcs he's forced to resolve-- and the story-arcs he actually wants to resolve? Taken from him by Geoff Johns and sorted in Booster Gold. It's bull-shittery, and it's a damn shame he wasn't give the chance to shine. He worked on Justice League Unlimited, dammit! He would have done the best damn JLA run since Morrison, or ever, given free rein!

Uh... no. Editorial mandates should be expected with a book like JLA and it's McDuffie's fault for not ever making the title better than just okay. Yes, it's hard to work on a book that the editorial has such a big hand it but clearly McDuffie just couldn't cope to dealing with those kinds of changes and still making a comic that didn't bore the living shit out of people. You have to understand, just because he worked on a decent tv show doesn't mean his comics are going to be any good, the two are not the same thing.

I agree. He had all the big characters for a lot of issues and could have done some amazing shit, but he didn't. You can't not use the big guns in any way exciting and then whine about not having them.

Meltzer left him with shit! Vixen! Red Tornado! I do not give a flying shit about these characters. He could have done awesome stuff, but he kept getting shouted down. Meh, to each their own.
