I read the Grimm fairy Tale books and I can say that those are rather depressing.

I think that's a problem in comics in general nowadays. There is rarely a lighthearted series that is being published by one of the big two either.

Yeah, the new Exiles book is fairly lighthearted but it fails at the whole being good thing...

Hmm, I dunno. I think this has been asked somewhere or other in a messageboard I was apart of before and it was a tricky thing to define indie comics because there are the big two and then everything else just seems so insignificant. Even imprint books sometimes can pass as indie, you know? Like, Vertigo books for the most part are off so many peoples' radars that they are in a weird gray area between the two.
