Haha, I'd say you are right about that here in America.
I think we agree in that Michael Bay does not have a racist agenda. Does he want to discriminate against black people because he hates them? Of course not, that's not the point though, he still is perpetuating negative stereotypes. If he was absolutely blameless in this regard, nobody would have brought it up, man. In a movie filled with white people, having to urban caricatures is a bit...
Fuck it.
Would you say the twin robots were even funny to begin? I think it's telling that in a recent interview, Kurtzman and Orci actually said they were embarrassed by them and that it was 100% Bay's doing that they were in the film and they weren't in the script. I would let it go if they were funny but... were they?

I would let it go if they were funny but... were they? Does a movie have to have a minly black cast to not be racist with comedy black characters? Is the token nerdy white guy in a mostly black film or tv show a racial stereotype? I guess, racist? I'd say certainly not. Things are either racist or thier not in my opinion, are they there to offend? Believe me, people get offended by anything! Mudflap and Skids funny? I laughed at alot of thier dialogue and actions but it wasn't as if they were needed in the film and they're not exactly comedy greatness. Just comic relief.

Oh... I know that people get offended by anything. Haha. I agree with you to an extent but it's not nearly so black and white. For example, I'd say these two characters walks the line as much as this... In the context of it being a satirical Robert Crumb cartoon, it's not that racist to me. Or if it is, it's supposed to make people question it. However, show this to a black person who could give a shit about Robert Crumb, they'd probably be well pissed off. Now, Mudflaps and Skids? Something tells me those two weren't made for people to actively think about them and what they say about society, they were clowns, right? I'm not saying it's out and out racism, chocky, I'm just saying if Bay really wanted to shoot for that target demographic of middle class white America that advertisers love to appeal to, why include two very racially charged characters. He could have had them be just dumb characters and it would have been all good, but they had a gold tooth and blackcents and from what I read, walk around like minstrel show actors. But again, I won't say they are done so to offend, Bay's just not a very smart guy or he likes taking this kind of heat. Also, Sanka in Cool Runnings was supposed to be funny but he was also an olympic bobsledder that had equally noble actions in the film. He wasn't JUST pulling an egg out of his tights when it was the most hilarious time to do so.

I thought you'd seen it! Anyway I dunno bout minstrel shows but they walk with the bad boy gansta wannabe swagger that many of todays youths, regardless of colour, do for whatever reason (cos they think it looks cool I guess!) Also, Sanka in Cool Runnings was supposed to be funny but he was also an olympic bobsledder that had equally noble actions in the film. He wasn't JUST pulling an egg out of his tights when it was the most hilarious time to do so. And the bot twins help the autobots save the day!

Haha, why would I watch a sequel to a movie I didn't like and is almost universally panned by critics? Nah, much easier to just cast aspersions.

i watched the movie and it was better then the 1st one
critics just talk shit cuz they can people who dont watch movies just cuz critics say its bad are fucking retarded(ramon)
i dont understand people saying,oh theres no plot or the storyline is weak
what the fuck do you expect from a action movie did commando have a great storyline?fuck no it was simple and straight forward you kidnapped my daughter iam gonna kill your ass
same with this movie kid is the is the chosen one,bad guys want to kill him and good guys will prevent that from happening
lots of action and explosions was good
that fact that critics gave this movie like a 40% or less and 91% of people who watched this movie thought it was as good or better then the first tells you that critics dont know shit
we want to be entertained and have fun when watching a movie
a great storyline is only a plus in action movies(dark knight, 1st 2 terminators)

It was corny and obnoxious and I had a hard time watching that shit the first time around and the fact that critics and fans that I have read that liked the first one DIDN'T like this one does not make me go, "Hey that looks like the way I want to spend two and a half hours!" I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a movie but plot is always a factor that should go into a story otherwise there is no point to watching it. I've went to modern art museums and sat through these experimental films where all it is, is a truck driving along a frozen tundra in an endless loop and I found THAT more entertaining then the first Transformers.
