The thing is though, that eventually ALL of the stories will stop being red hot. Marvel and DC by ending these stories quickly get to take advantage of the sales that comes with killing a character, pimping out the legacy character, and returning back to that first character without ever letting stories lag out. I will say, this is a little more egregious on Marvel's side for a couple reasons: while we know DC will bring back Batman, probably soon, they haven't done it yet so we have no idea how long they are going to ride it out. The other is, Captain America is in like three comics? Maybe less? Batman has an entire line of comics that will be milking that potential. Or something. You know what I mean.

Well...I read Cap Reborn #1, and I'm a bit shocked that using the way they are bring Steve back is really how its going to go down.
It honestly seems more in line with how to bring Bruce Wayne back. I would love nothing more than for this story to effect DC's plans with Batman as to extend Dick's run as Batman until a new or more original way to bring back Bruce Wayne is thought up. Unless some new element is thrown in, if you've read the Mr.Miracle and Seven Soldiers stuff along with Final Crisis, then you know Bruce Wayne is lost in time.
And now, apparently so is Steve Rogers. I read a review that said Cap Reborn feels like something DC would do, and I agree. Guess I'll go ahead and spoil it......
Red Skull and his crew used a Dr.Doom time machine device to lock Steve Rogers in time, but when Sharon Carter was captured by them she broke the machine and now Steve is lost in time. We got to see some past sequences of Steve as a kid and during WW2 with Bucky and its current Steve who is reliving these moments of his past.

So they practically went ahead and stole DC's plan that would bring back Batman? On top of that they stole DC's story of how Batman got "killed" and was lost in time? It's a pretty blatant rip off. Lame.

I've read the interviews that claim that they always knew how to bring Cap back, but I kinda don't buy it. Especially if this story ties so much into Dark Reign I'll call bullshit, because if Cap came back 5 issues later like Marvel said they could have done, the Dark Reign stuff wasn't even happening. I suppose some story elements could be changed, but I'm just skeptical.
Guess back in the 90's I kinda admired DC for admitting they when they turned Superman into the Blue Energy Superman, they didn't really know how they were going to turn them back. Granted it was a change but some decent stories came out of it, and I think it was because they didn't have a back door to use if things just sucked 2 months into it.

Captain America should stay dead. They originally said they weren't going to treat his death like every other super hero that dies and bring him back but they did.
Conveniently in time for the new Cap movie that is coming out in two years. This will completely undermine Bucky Barnes stepping into his new role as Cap.
